Red Ribbon For Aids Prevention

Combating AIDS in much affected places like Africa has become a worldwide concern. Such issue has brought the creation of Red Ribbon for Aids Prevention which signifies a worldwide call to campaign for HIV and Aids awareness across the globe. Individuals who are concerned wear the red ribbons to flaunt their emotional attention to fight against this life-threatening disease that has already taken lives of children, men and women from various nations.

With the Red Ribbon for Aids Prevention, hope still exists especially among those who are inflicted with HIV and Aids. The curing vaccine has controlled the disease from worsening and the life’s standards of those affected have somehow progressed. Support is also given by advocates of Red Ribbon to search for treatments, cures and vaccines continuously.

Anybody can be part of the Red Ribbon for Aids Prevention campaign. Inflicted with the disease, you can become an advocate who can reach out to the victims and share financial, spiritual and moral contribution to them. The first step to becoming an advocate for anti-AIDS is by wearing a red ribbon which you can create on your own. After which, you can act your clamor out by getting involved in campaign programs, medical missions, etc.

Developed by the Visual Aids Artists Caucus in New York in 1991, Red Ribbon for Aids Prevention has given impact to the 20th World AIDS Day. The campaign to combat HIV and AIDS has even reached China to increase awareness on virus avoidance. Around 223,501 had been reportedly contacted with HIV and 62, 838 with AIDS as reported by the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization and UNAIDs as of October 2007. The figures are alarming, thus Red Ribbons doubles its efforts to achieve its thrust of prevention. The rate of Aids has dropped down at least.

The campaign for Red Ribbon for Aids Prevention had also touched the hearts of those in fashion industry. Benetton, for one, is signifying their concern through its latest advertising collaterals released internationally in 1997. With Red Ribbon Centre, the resource and education centre founded by the Department of Health, the mission to provide venues for minor and major collaborative events to fight HIV and AIDS is strengthened while societal cooperation to widen AIDS education is affirmed.

As a motivational scheme, the Red Ribbon for Aids Prevention has created the Red Ribbon Award to pay tribute to effective projects in the community that have contributed to the realization of the organization’s thrust of care, treatment, support and prevention. It’s done once in two years in support with Leadership and Community Program Committees of the International Aids Conference as well as by the United Nationals Development Program. Outstanding efforts pay off as the world applauds them endlessly.
